Working With Officeworks To Supply Assistive Technology

The impact of COVID-19 has changed the way therapy is provided to some participants. Remote therapy has now become common for speech pathology, physiotherapy and psychology, among other types of therapy. This means the need for Assistive Technology is more popular than ever.

The NDIS know technology is increasingly enabling people with disability to perform tasks they could not otherwise do, to perform tasks more easily, and to perform them more safely and securely. So, they provide funding for iPads, computers and other devices needed to support participants.

This is why myAutonomy works with Officeworks to make it easy to obtain such items without the delay of bank transfers or the need to pay for items up front.

How does it work?

Simply pick the technology you need to support your therapy from the Officeworks website. Email us a screenshot or give us a call and describe the item. We will order the item, claim the funds from the NDIS and pay Officeworks. For this to be seamless, ensure your home address details are up to date for delivery.

Why should I use this option?

At myAutonomy, we want to help you live an independent life by freeing up your time so you can focus on your goals. We work with Officeworks to reduce the time it takes to deliver items and reduce the effort it may take to get the items you need.

What items can I get from Officeworks?

There are several items you can receive under the NDIS funding; however, you do need to prove that these devices are necessary and a reasonable purchase. Here is a list of popular items to get you started:

Am I eligible to use my funds for Low Cost Assistive technology items?

You must meet a criterion that is reasonable and necessary. This means the items need to be related to your disability. For example, if you need a laptop to make video calls with your therapist, you can ask them to provide a letter (this can be in the form of an email) detailing how the device will assist your therapy and send it to myAutonomy.
